A virtual 3D expo for Startup Village

A browser-based 3D exhibition that recreated a physical event during the pandemic, with a different approach to moving through the space.
The product
During the pandemic, my team and I built a 3D online expo for Startup Village. We recreated the atmosphere of the physical event and added the options a virtual venue could offer that a hall could not.
My role
I led frontend and UX work on the exhibition, connecting WebGL navigation with the way visitors were expected to move, look, and find sessions.
The scope
The project sat next to other Immergity work on browser-based WebGL interiors. It asked for a spatial interface that still behaved like a website: shareable links, familiar controls, and a path through the programme that did not depend on a map of a real building.
Outcome
The expo was visited 130,000 times.
