A programming olympiad built around bots
Botality is a programming contest where people compete by writing bots in a gamified environment, inspired by a basic-income idea.
The product
Botality is a programming olympiad service. Participants compete by programming bots inside a gamified environment, on an idea borrowed from universal basic income.
My role
I built the Next.js frontend for the service, including the contest surface that sits on top of the Botality API.
The scope
A bot contest is two products at once: an editor for people who write code, and a match for people who want to see it play. The interface had to serve both without pretending they are the same user.
Outcome
The service shipped as a public olympiad with its own API and a dedicated frontend.
